Our Teachers
Patricia Parkinson
BTDA Teaching Diploma. Registered Member of bbodance. Lamda music Advance
Patricia Parkinson, affectionately known as Mrs. P, has over 40 years of teaching experience. She trained at the Arts Educational and has had a varied career in dance. Her love of teaching is evident in the care and time spent on pupils. In her own words “ Dance is not just about the talented pupils, it is so much more; it builds confidence, teaches children about imagination and music. It is so rewarding to see a child develop their skills and express the musicality of dance. All children have something to offer and I am so fortunate to be able to motivate and encourage their abilities.”
Ellia Rhodes - Teacher
MA, AM bbodance

Ellia began her dance teaching journey in 2019 as a dance assistant to Mrs Parkinson. After two years, she progressed to the role of dance teacher in training. Over the past five years, she has taught BBO grades ranging from Baby Ballet to Intermediate level, covering ballet, modern and tap.
Ellia is a warm and encouraging teacher who loves working with younger children, and our students absolutely adore her. She has also built an excellent reputation when teaching senior students, where her focus on wellbeing, developing technical precision, and fostering a genuine enjoyment of dance forms the foundation of her classes.
Ellia’s own training began in 2011 when she enrolled with Patricia Parkinson at Bowdon Dance Academy, studying ballet, modern and tap. Under Patricia Parkinson’s expert tuition, Ellia achieved excellent results in her examinations, reaching BBO Grade 6 qualifications.
Sadly, Ellia was forced to stop dancing due to a painful knee growth condition. However, a year after her diagnosis, and recognising Ellia’s great potential as a teacher, Patricia Parkinson invited her back to the academy as a dance assistant. Under Patricia’s continued guidance and mentorship, Ellia progressed to become a highly regarded dance teacher.
Kitty Barlow - Intermediate Foundation Ballet Student
